Becoming a member opens the door to a wealth of knowledge, experience and fun; all for one low annual fee.
Alongside our branch meetings and workshops, you will have plenty of opportunity to meet and gain access to cake decorating industry professionals to help you improve your craft or inspire your creativity.
At each meeting we have professional, experienced cake decorators and sugar artists demonstrating their craft.
Demonstrations vary and range from sugar flowers, figurines, cake decorating and new techniques/tools to name a few. All demonstrators are available for any questions you might have.
Once you become a member of Sydney Branch you can attend other branch meeting days without being a member of that branch, you just need to pay their door fee.
This means there could be a cake decorating event available to you every weekend, all for one low-cost joining fee.
When attending other branch meetings, we ask that you wear your member and/or name badge so it is easy to identify you as a guild member.
Meetings and workshops
We also host workshops during the year which are advertised on our website and in our newsletter.
Workshops are supervised, hands-on classes designed for small groups to focus on a particular project, giving you the chance to learn a new skill or improve a current one. For advertised workshops see what’s on.
Members receive a bi-monthly branch newsletter Sydney News, as well as a quarterly copy of Sweet Perfection, a booklet distributed by the state body.
We also have an online noticeboard keeping our members up-to-date with current news.
The membership fee is made up of a branch fee and a state body fee which includes insurance. All members are covered by insurance whilst at the meeting.
Membership is currently $65* per year for renewals and our financial year runs from January to December. For new members, a once-off $20 joining fee also applies. Half-yearly membership is made up of half the branch and state fee, plus the full current joining fee.
On top of the membership fee, we charge a small fee at meetings and workshops. This fee covers things such as demonstrator notes and light refreshments. For more information see meetings.
